according to the director. this is another outlook on the world of avatar. same characters, just redesigned in his own image.

he's done things like making the fire nation indian, the water tribe caucasian, and took away some of sokka's comedy and made him a little more serious.

I don't know how this movie is going to turn out, but I'm not going to judge it on the race of the actors, but the film itself.

I'm interested in seeing avatar re-done. I've already seen Mike and Bryan's look on the avatar world, now I'm ready to see something new.

Ooo i just finished listening to one of Jesse McCartney's songs and watched avatar after that. now i know why the director of the life action movie wants jesse...cuz jesse sounds almost like Zuzu...

Also: Zuko is supposed to be pale.... not freaking TAN! And Katara and Sokka are supposed to be tan... not freaking PALE!

And the water tribe people are supposed to wear blue.... not normal eskimo clothes.

And Aang's arrow is not supposed to be detailed and comlicated with the Air Nomad symbol... it's a freaking simple, light blue arrow!!!!!!!!

And what's up with no Asians or no Asian-looking hispanics???!!! I'm yellow (I never find that term offending).... half Korean to be exact.

well dani, doing the same thing as the cartoon would be boring actually. I've already seen what things were like in the cartoon, now I'm ready to see a new idea. Sometimes the things that work in the cartoon, don't always fit in live action movies. I actually like what they have done so far, just maybe make zuko's scar a little more detailed.

I've seen plenty of asian's in the cast so far, so I don't see racism. I think people are calling it racist, because it's not what they want, but movies based off cartoons are never what we want them to be.

If you don't like it, then don't talk about it or watch it.

you might notice that M. Night is dumb enough to think that the arrow is an Avatar thing, not an Airbender thing.

He's got artwork of the arrow morphing from the Air Nomad symbol to the Water Tribe symbol, then to the Earth Kingdom symbol, then the Fire Nation symbol. Apparently the symbol on his head will change whenever he's learning a new element.

So in M. Night's world, Aang's arrow marks him as the Avatar, not as an airbending master.



(apparently Roku's spirit would have an arrow too, or maybe M Night Shutthefuckup just thinks that the arrow disappears once an avatar dies)

that would suck if roku had a arrow. as for the tattoo changing depending on the element that is being learned...sounds kinda stupid.

Yeah, m night sucks, I honestly cant say I like any of his dumb movies...

Well I actually like at two of them, but yeah...most of them are dumb.

The main, major problem that I see with this movie isn't the blatant racism, or the story changes, or the costumes.

The problem is, the Avatar world is an already-established world. It's a world that's incredibly rich and lush with detail; it's a world that we all fell in love with and felt ourselves part of. If someone's going to add to it, or change things, I'd greatly prefer that it's someone who loves the Avatar world as much as I do.

M. Night has shown again and again that he sees the Avatar franchise as a moneymaker and nothing more. He doesn't care about the characters, the story, the history, or the future of the world we all love. Rather than cast talented actors in the main roles, he chose "hot right now" sure-fire moneymakers from currently popular movies. This is a man who chose to cast HIMSELF as a secondary main character (in Lady in the Water) rather than hire an actor with.... gee, I dunno.... actual acting ability.

Contrast that with creators Mike and Brian, who loved this story, this world, so much that they turned down a lucrative opportunity to continue past 3 seasons. They had a vision of how the story would go, and they stuck to it to the end. They refused to sell out because TLA was important to them.

I DON'T like what Night is doing, and I'm going to talk about it to whoever will listen, to keep them from putting any money into this franchise. Night does not deserve to profit from this movie.

I personally am seeing the movie as a die hard fan, and not just a critic going to watch this movie and see if it's bad because it's difference. I like how they did Aang's Arrow. I really don't think it'd look good blue. It looks more real, if you can kind of figure out what I mean.
