Re: Yasora Art
Please DO NOT draw Yasora with any sort of weapon, in martial art stances, etc. We still do not have sufficient concept art for Yasora's appearance in EPISODE 1, and later in the first Season...thedarklilly105 wrote:I think I'll draw [Yasora] with a bow+arrow just to make sure.
IF we decide that Yasora will learn to use a bow and arrow (a big IF that I personally disagree with...), she wouldn't be using it until Season 2.
So please, hold off on drawing Yasora with weapons. I'd first like to see a picture of her smiling!
Re: Yasora Art
ok, then I suppose you'll be happy to know I got rid of my artist's block this afternoon and finally got onto drawing her! I drew a full body picture, and then around it her expressions for her different moods, I did happy (yes she is smiling), angry, and one of her crying (I enjoy drawing characters crying, don't ask ) I tryed to upload them but the quality was so crappy they looked really bad. So, I am going to go over them in pen (which I absolutely HATE doing because I get all nervous about making mistakes and then my hand starts quivering and bla bla bla) and then try uploading them again. Or beg someome to use their scanner... I think I'll colour them too. Anyways, I should have them done... sometime tomorrow afternoon? Man, I wish I had the right art materials.. that would make my life so much easier Ok, enough of my ranting.

Re: Yasora Art
I think I got something for Yasora. HeeHee.
Well... if she goes with a fighting style called combat Tai Chi (and WATERBENDING is based off of Tai Chi), then she can use this weapon called the Tai Chi sword. It's straight and is used with the fluid and graceful moves of Combat Tai Chi.
Here's a pic: http://www.martialartsmart.net/452062.html
Here's a vid that shows the sword being used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQGvm-7WYFY
What's pretty cool is that most of the video is taken place near the water. lol And it's a pretty boring video, but it DOES show the Tai Chi sword being used.

i like the tai chi sword better than the bow and arrow idea. the sword kinda looks like what sokka had.
Re: Yasora Art
I like the bow + arrow better, although the sword is very beautiful.
Anyways, we don't have to worry about weapons for a long while so it doesn't matter.

I know she won't learn any special fighting skills... but it's better to plan ahead, right? So.... I guess the two options so far are the Bow and Arrow and the Combat Tai chi with the sword.... hm... both seem to fit her. I can't decide. I'm pretty skilled at daydreaming and imagining... and both seem to fit her.
Re: Yasora Art
haha, same here. Infact, it is sort of how I spend most of my spare time. lol. Yeah, both of them suit her.. hm.. maybe she could have both? But NuWatts did say no hand to hand combat.. is a bow + Arrow considered that? (not that we are seriously thinking about this Nuwatts, nor drawing it)

well Sokka didn't really need to use hand-to-hand combat. So I guess if we're deciding on weapons, I pick the Tai Chi sword.... or the bow and arrow.... IDK... both suit her JUST fine.
Re: Yasora Art
Not to nitpick, but let's stay on topic, ok?
We have NO art for Yasora. We need a face, a body type, a hairstyle.

I thought we were going with Nao's design. Well.... I'll draw a face and hairstyle for Yasora and then I'll take a pic of it with a digital camera (the camera works! )
Re: Yasora Art
Well... in case we're not going with Nao's (which I think we ARE going with Nao's because her art is incredible), I drew a picture of my version of Yasora and used a digital cam to take a pic of it.

Re: Yasora Art
It's better to leave this to the Storyline and Character Developers.danielledear1 wrote:I know [Yasora] won't learn any special fighting skills... but it's better to plan ahead, right?
The ONE drawing of Yasora that Nao made (posted below) was drawn when Nao still thought that Yasora was going to be a minor character.I thought we were going with Nao's design.
Not that in the first Episode, Yasora doesn't do anything similar to what's in this picture. That's why the art we currently have for Yasora is VERY inadequate.
That's why your assignment was to make:

I like it! My only qualm is that she looks too skinny...I drew a picture of my version of Yasora and used a digital cam to take a pic of it.

Re: Yasora Art
We've alrady redesigned Yasora for another round, but we have not started on decideding what we like and what we want to develop more.
Venicegirl is away(but returning soon) so palette colour tests wouldn't be in until she's back.

I like the costume! Like a traditional Water Tribe member, with an homage to the Earth Kingdom where she was born.

Re: Yasora Art
To everyone with the best intentions, pls refer to this when drawing Yasora. The previous design( the one with teh full fit and the flute) has been voided. The art team is now putting this on the discussion table.
Pls play with these designs, and more importantly, give it colours.
You can go to www.avatar-the-dod.deviantart.com for a bigger version.

The more I look at it, the more I think a Hanbok really fits Yasora. I like the last design the best.

You don't have to do that. As long as you have it saved on your computer, you can post it. Don't worry, I made the same mistake too and it took a while to figure it out but once you get it, it is really easy.
All you have to do is click on the button that has an image of a picture and a floppy disc "Host an image" at the top, then click "file - BROWSE" and find the image you want to post under you pictures and select it. Then click the "HOST IT" button at the bottom and it should turn the name of the file for the photo you selected into an 'url'. Then copy the url and click on the picture icon at the top beside the "Host and image" icon and paste the url you were given into the space. The press "Ok".
You won't see the image, you will see an url like thing inside these [ . . . ] but if you click "preveiw" the image will appear in your post. you can post more than one image but try not to do too many because it takes up a lot of space.
There, I hope that wasn't terribly confusing.. I tried to make it simple but..
Anyways, hope that helped! Good luck!

Thanks Nao, I'll try drawing her with those costumes .. and change it up a little to see. I like the hair styles you made! They are awsome!

Re: Yasora Art
I like the fourth design Nao did. Try not to pay attention to the flaws in the drawing. Just look at the pretty colors.
