Re: Yasora Art
Hello everyone!
Ms. VeniceGirl contacted me to do some Yasora art.
And so I doodled! Sure, I should be writing a paper, but I am proud of my mixed up priorities.
Lemme know what you think and what I should change/work on/trash completely.
I just drew whatever came to my head. No color though, sorry! I'll color when I get something more definite~

Hmm... the long sleeves and skirt look a bit too plain and I don't really like the one with the capri pants. I do like the Korean one and the poofy pants though, so I'd vote for either one of those

The tight pants (they look like leggings) are kinda giving me an idea... I love that design!
Hm... with it being spring, it shouldn't really be too hot or too cold... and since our Book 2 is summer (I think), we may have some late spring in the first book... which means it should be a little got... (well... Aang basically wore long sleeves a whole lot...) so... uh... idk... XD
Re: Yasora Art
... I love all of them. T_T
But I would also say to drop out the bottom left. I personnally love the one with capri tights/pants... and the Korean-like design is very cute.
Blacktiewhitetie?
And which one do you like best, cory?
Hope you get that paper written before it's due. BD

Re: Yasora Art
I really like the korean design.
You have a cute(as in kawaii) style.

Re: Yasora Art
Thanks for the input and compliments guys!
(I personally think that the lower-left one is more like a relaxing at a hot-spring and not 'venturing all over the world)
I like the Korean-type one the best myself.
I think it best suits a character that is more mental support than physical support.
I tried to see if her style of fighting was determined yet and I didn't really see a conclusion to that so I just drew her to the greatest common denominator...

Re: Yasora Art
Here's another Yasora thingy... got body proportions wrong and got lazy with the wrinkles in her clothes (I got them in the pants but I think they're barely visible). I'm stuck with the whole ballet flats and baggy pants idea. XD
So here it is. It basically looks like... all the other Yasora artwork.... kinda... XD
Just a sketch I did... and excuse me for the "hands". lol XD

Re: Yasora Art
I should kill you for the furry lines. Shouldn't I? You don't have to draw it in one line, but flurry lines are a no. You can go over your lines or join them or darken them but don't make them flurry.
The proportions look more or less correct, except it's near young adult. Wonder if that's a good sign to you?

Hey, it was only a sketch... I was bored, lazy, and my parents weren't home. XD
Yeah... now I got a new problem (OK... maybe it's not new) ... my teens look too mature... O_o I'll do my best to fix that.
Re: Yasora Art
Ehehe... ^^;
Alright. I can see why the Korean style is so appealing... it's lovely.
I think it would definitely work for her.
BUT, something to keep in mind:
Perhaps we should look at Cory's other designs, and Danielle's as well, for something that's closer to the traditional WT type of garb.
But I'm all for going with something like Cory's Korean design for Yasora once we move along.

BUT, something to keep in mind:
Like NuWatts said, we'll probably have to go with something more Water Tribe-ish for the beginning of Season 1. I'm pretty sure that Yasora will have her clothing-change early on, but first we need her WT outfit.NuWatts wrote:Since Yasora grew up in the Southern Water Tribe all her life, she should be wearing full, traditional Water Tribe clothing in Episode 1 (and beyond). Her pale skin and dark hair is enough to distinguish that she is from the Earth Kingdom.

i like the korean type! xD and HI PPL! I'M BACK!!!
Re: Yasora Art
The more I look at it... the more I love the Korean the most.
But... it looks a bit too hot for Spring... then again you can wear the hanbok all year. XD Still... it would look great for book 3 Fall.... then again, I'll leave it for VG to decide.

Re: Yasora Art
The Korean one looks like... a mixture of Korean and Water Tribe. Hm... maybe the sleeves should be SLIGHTLY shorter and thinner? The only problem I have with it is the fact that it looks too warm... but idk.
Re: Yasora Art
I've been curious about what a hanbok (Korean dress) looks like in blue... I've only seen them in multiple colors (including dark blue in only some areas) and I can only imagine it with different shades of green. The hanbok is more... Earth Kingdom. Look it up on google images or something and type in "hanbok". I don't know...
Re: Yasora Art
That's absolutely true Danielle. The hanbok/Korean style is an Earth Kindom garment, not Water Tribe. I don't think it should be used for her initial design.
Does that make sense to everyone?
She wears traditional WT clothing first, because that's the culture she was raised in. She later changes into something more suited to an Earth Kindom gal, and I definitely approve of the hanbok design for that.

I agree
Re: Yasora Art
I agree completely. The hanbok is definitely earth kingdom style.
But at least it got us somewhere.
More importantly...
I've tried a re-do of her outfit in a watertribe-y style (colors are just temp)
I kept a few aspects from the hanbok outfit, but with a more Japanese influence.

Re: Yasora Art
Whoa, Cory! Whoa! 8D
I really like that. A lot.
Also, the bun. We hadn't drawn it like that, just had the braids make a loop. I was trying to figure out how that would work.
The bun fixes that. I like. BD
I wouldn't mind this being her design for ep 1 at all. It looks good on her, and is indeed Water Tribe-ish.
Blacktiewhitetie?

Re: Yasora Art
I think it looks just perfect! Hm... maybe that little bow under the belt should be taken out... but idk. It looks great!
Re: Yasora Art
Good point Danielle. I'm not sure how it works there... looks pretty, but it doesn't exactly make sense.
Darn.
Darn.
